Competence description
Understand methods to acquire historical, project-related and real-time spatial data and to procure available time series to characterize hazard processes; manage and analyze those with GIS systems.
Learning outcomes
- Use remote sensing techniques to characterize pre- and post-event terrain and infrastructure characteristics
- Use real-time sensors to identify / anticipate dramatic system shifts
- Do preliminary, spatially explicit exposure analysis
- Experience field mapping of historical phenomena and combine them with cadastral data
- Model and manage databases in a GIS
