We thank you all for attending the ICASP11 conference. With over 300 participants it was a great success.
The ICASP Conference secretariat will be closed end of September. If you have any request please send an e-mail to icasp11@ethz.ch before end of September. Thanks Annette Walzer
At the ICASP11 conference two new awards will be given, namely the C. Allin Cornell Award and the CERRA Student Recognition Award.
The Board of Directors of CERRA is proud to announce that, effective ICASP11, the CERRA Award is being renamed C. Allin Cornell Award. The late Professor C. Allin Cornell, who was the first recipient of the CERRA Award in 1987, had a major influence on the advancement of risk and reliability in civil engineering. He pioneered many areas of application of probability and statistics in civil engineering, including seismic hazard analysis, probability-based design codes, load modeling and combination, reliability assessment of offshore and nuclear structures, and performance-based earthquake engineering.
The C. Allin Cornell Award is given, once every four years, on the occasion of the ICASP conference to an individual for his/her contributions to the advancement of risk and reliability methods in civil engineering. Rules for the nomination or selection of the candidate can be found on the CERRA website http://www.ce.berkeley.edu/~cerra.
At ICASP 11, CERRA will introduce the new CERRA Student Recognition Award. The award will be given in recognition of scientific contributions and personal merits of student researchers and may, besides a certificate, include financial support in the form of free conference attendance and a travel grant. Rules for the nomination and selection of candidates can be found on the CERRA website http://www.ce.berkeley.edu/~cerra.
This recognition will be awarded to selected students (MSc, PhD or equivalent) in connection with CERRA ICASP conferences. The award is given in recognition of scientific contributions and personal merits and will comprise a certificate, free attendance to the ICASP conference (except dinner and tours) and to the extent possible also travel grants. As a rule, financial support for travel grants will be based on sponsor support at individual ICASP conferences and travel grants can only be given to the extent sponsor support is available.
To qualify for nomination students must specifically apply for consideration. Detailed information on regarding the application process is announced by the organizers of the ICASP conferences.
Applications must include:
• Copy of the full written paper, first authored by the applicant and fulfilling the normal rules for paper submission to the ICASP conferences.
• Curriculum vitae of the applicant.
• Estimates of needed financial support for travel and accommodation (economy fares/B&B)
Please send your application to : icasp11@ethz.ch . The applications will be evaluated by the ICASP conference organizers including members of the CERRA board. Applicants will be notified at least 2 months before the ICASP conference.
