Applications and new developments of system reliability assessment (theory)

We thank you all for attending the ICASP11 conference. With over 300 participants it was a great success.

The ICASP Conference secretariat will be closed end of September. If you have any request please send an e-mail to icasp11@ethz.ch before end of September. Thanks Annette Walzer

Abstract

The evaluation of system reliability for structures has been an active area of research for over three decades. The search for efficient computational procedures for estimating system reliability has resulted in several approaches such as bounding techniques, probabilistic network evaluation technique (PNET) and direct or smart Monte-Carlo simulations. This mini-symposium will focus on novel applications and new developments of system reliability assessment in broad sense. New approaches and investigations on performance function of structural system, probabilistic characteristics of the performance function including probability density function, distribution function and moments properties will be presented and discussed.
